Listeners of DZMM who tried to visit its website last 21 April 2016 were surprised to be redirected to a different page, one that contains the names of two groups of computer programmers: Anonymous Philippines and Blood Security International.
These two secret group of tech geniuses owned up to defacing the website of DZMM as a result of the radio station’s biased reporting. Both Anonymous Philippines and Blood Security International claims that DZMM and its mother station, ABS-CBN has been guilty of “false propaganda.”
There have also been complaints of biased reporting by the station, particularly on hot issues and personalities. One good example is their unfair reports against Iglesia Ni Cristo. There’s also the issue of favoring the “yellow” party and its candidates this election season.
According to Anonymous Philippines and Blood Security International, their move to hack the website is their own brand of punishment to DZMM and ABS-CBN. They claim that they have no political favorites and that their only goal is to make the public aware of the station’s “biases.”
Below are scanned copies of reports from local English newspapers regarding the hacking.
